Countdown to a new year: It’s Resolution Time
“When we once begin to form good resolutions, God gives us every opportunity of carrying them out.” - St John Chrysostom
Further to your time of retrospective evaluation and introspection, ask yourself, what am I looking at getting in the New Year?
And to get that, what must I do differently?
Sometimes resolutions are as simple - yet high impact - like the decision to sleep earlier and get up earlier. It may mean forfeiting a couple of parties, but may enable you to stick to that exercise routine you were finding hard. Or to manage more tasks during the day.
The Sunshine girl suggests that you make new year resolutions - or even ONE good resolution (cut down on those carbs? pray daily? go to the gym 3 times a week? get up early? read a book a month?) that you feel you really need to do.
The Sunshine girl found this article online called “How to Keep Your New Year’s Resolutions” of which, point 3 struck her:
Tell everyone you know - Blog about it. Put it on Facebook or Orkut or your webpage. Email your friends. The Sunshine girl is ashamed she didn’t complete her resolution for 2007 (to read 24 new authors) but because the task was online, she did manage to get further down the list than she’d have gotten before!
